ISA detentions - Calm but firmly against it

When Raja Petra Kamaruddin was arrested under ISA, I had an immediate feeling that there could be another round of massive ISA detentions.

My guess was not wrong. Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng and Teresa were both detained at 8:30pm and 11:25pm respectively yesterday night. It is confirmed that the massive ISA detention has kicked-off. If the government can detain Tan Hoon Cheng, I do not understand why Ahmad Ismail is not detained.

BN and UMNO is trying to create a tensed situation, including stirring up racial and religious sentiments among different races and religions in this country, in order to justify their use of ISA detention to terrify the people and to stiffen freedom of speech, particularly after the 8th March political tsunami. With that I can expect more detentions to come.

All DAP elected representatives are reminded to be vigilant as anything can happen to anyone of us. Besides, all Malaysians should remain calm but stand firmly against such massive detention while we condemn such inhumane detentions without trials.
