It was parliament question time when DAP MP for Ipoh Barat, YB M. Kulasegaran posed a question to the Parliament Secretary for Ministry of Finance on whether there could be an urge from the government to the private sector to increase the wages of workers in private sector so that their salaries can support their living.
CPI (Consumer Price Index) which was recorded at 1.9% was described as not accurate by YB M. Kulasegaran as it is public knowledge that cost of living has gone up way beyond 1.9%.
However, it was the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs, YB Datuk Shafie Apdal, MP for Semporna, who answered a question from MP for Sepanggar subsequently rebuted M. Kulasegaran for not citing the truth as he said he can prove that there are certain items which prices has reduced.
Denial syndrome was so deep-rooted in his mind until he challenged Kulasegaran to resign if he can prove that there are items which prices has gone down. Kulasegaran continue to asked which are items but Shafie still refused to answer.
