馬華民政抗議選委會選區劃分只不過是粉飾櫥窗？MCA and PGRM objecting to EC’s proposed redelineation exercises are mere window-dressing exercises

雪蘭莪州民主行動黨甘榜東姑州議員劉永山於2018年1月3號在八打靈再也所發表的文告：

馬華和民政黨會否通過他們在內閣的代表反對選舉委員會不公平劃分半島選區，尤其是在雪州國州議席的選區重新劃分？兩黨又是否會下令他們的國會議員針對選委會如此不公平的選區劃分投下反對票？

今天是選委會為新建議劃分新國會選區——白沙羅國會選區——進行新選區劃分聽證會。會上領軍出席的有馬華和民政黨基層領袖和前州議員，即馬華前任甘榜東姑州議員拿督黃世豪醫生以及民政黨前雪州武吉欄章州議員兼前行政議員拿督林永強工程師。

兩黨在雪州排除前州議員級別的人馬反對選委會的抗議，美其名讓大家以為選委會公正不阿，以致聯邦執政黨也有對新選區劃分建議諸多不滿，但是如果兩黨高層不敢作以上表示來挫敗選委會的選區劃分，這表示這些抗議只不過是粉飾櫥窗而已。

Media statement by DAP ADUN for Kampung Tunku Lau Weng San on 3rd January 2018 in Petaling Jaya:

I challenge MCA and PGRM to announce if they will object to EC’s proposed redelineation exercises in Peninsula Malaysia which is heavily criticised and grossly unfair via their representative in the Executive and Legislative?

Today at the EC’s inquiry on the newly proposed Damansara parliamentary seat, both MCA and PGRM are led and represented by their former ADUNs in Selangor. MCA was lead by Dato Dr. Wong Sai Hou, former ADUN for Kampung Tunku while PGRM was represented by Dato’ Ir Lum Wing Keong, former ADUN for Bukit Lanjan and former Selangor EXCO member.

Though MCA and PGRM may claim that EC is being neutral in the sense that even the ruling parties at the Federal Government are dissatisfied with the newly redelineated Parliamentary and State seats proposed by EC, such objections and dissatisfactions are mere window-dressing if the highest leadership for both parties are not prepared to take such stand to defeat the redelineation exercise.
