More than a thousand people attended the Chinese New Year open house hosted by Kampung Tunku state assemblyman YB Lau Weng San held at the sports arena of SRJK Sungai Way in Petaling Jaya on Monday, February 9, 2009.
Selangor state executive councillor YB Ean Yong Hian Wah who along with Petaling Jaya Utara member of parliament YB Tony Pua were guests of honour at the event.
Three lions and a comical monk entertained the guests with their dance performance and later handed out mandarin oranges. Other activities lined up at the event included a contest to guess the number of seeds in the papaya on display, choir and karaoke singing.
Later the guests were treated to a buffet dinner.
