Circulation of nude photographs - immoral act that infringes personal privacy condemned

It was reported in the media today that private nude photographs and video of an assemblywoman from Pakatan Rakyat Selangor are being circulated.

The report also said that "at least 10 other pictures have fallen into the hands of unscrupulous people who are attempting to use it for political purposes.”

On behalf Selangor State Legislative Assembly Backbenchers Club, I would like to condemn such immoral act which infringes the privacy of a public figure, irregardless of any political affiliation, moreover the victim is a female.

We called on the authority, especially the police force to launch a thorough and professional investigation into the matter as to whether there is any political motive behind the scene to run down any elected representative from Pakatan Rakyat.

Meanwhile, we called on members of the public to cease forwarding any photographs and video related to this matter in order to respect the privacy of the victim.
