New form for Mesra Usia Emas

New form is issued by the Selangor State Government for the Mesra Usia Emas programme. Unlike the previous form, the new form comes with serial number and carbonized forms.

The new numbered nd carbonized forms come with the first white sheet for office use, the second sheet is a blue carbonized sheet and it is to be retained by the State Assemblyman office. The third sheet is yellow and to be kept by the applicant, who is the senior citizen himself or herself.

The rest of the conditions are still the same, that the applicant must attach his/her own photostated IC, guardian's photostated IC and beneficiary's photostated ICs.

Senior citizens who are 60 year old and above who are born in Selangor or stay in the state more than 15 years are eligible to apply. Those who are interested can obtain the form from their respective ADUN office.

Dear ADUN Lau,

What about those senior citizens who had submitted their applications using the old format yellow forms ? Do they still have to resubmit ?

By the way, those who had submitted earlier are wondering what happened to their applicaions. There is no news or confirmation of receipt by the state authorities. A few seniors are wondering whether the scheme is genuine or not.

The state govt should ensure a certain credibility to the exercise otherwise people will lose faith in what the state is implementing especially the seniors who are in their twilight years. There should be a more caring attitude shown to these seniors.

Senior citizens who had submitted their applications using the old format yellow forms must refill the new form.

For those who had submitted yellow forms earlier, they should be informed by their respective ADUN that the forms is not an application form. The form is actually a form to collect information for database.

We had already highlight our dissatisfaction with the State Authority and hopefully things will be improved down the road.

As it's mentioned in Edward Lee (Bukit Gasing)'s blog, a copy of the land title can be used as proof for applicant who is not born in Selangor but has stayed in the state for more than 15 years.

Must it be in the name of the applicant or his/her son/daughter will do?
