A prominent woman MP from MCA has criticised the DAP for being a opportunistic party when DAP chooses to work with Parti KeADILan Rakyat (PKR) for the coming General Election.
Before that this woman MP criticized PKR for oppressing women in this country when Anwar Ibrahim was criticized as the man wields the real power and rules party behind the scene. This is termed as ‘垂帘听政’ ("attending audiences behind a curtain" chuí lián tīng zhèng).
She even went futher to criticize the DAP as the same when we work with PKR.
I wonder how fantastic is her imagination to create such a link between DAP and PKR, and to criticize the DAP as gender-insensitive, not respecting women rights through such ‘innovative link creation’.
But if I have the chance to meet her, I would first ask her a question: Where was she when a group of women NGOs, MPs and members of the public presented a memorandum on ‘bocor’ sexist remarks to the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in her office, when the MCA woman MP is also holding a portfolio in that Ministry?
Obviously, she was absent at the scene. Now, how do you expect a woman MP like her to uphold women right when she herself is not ready to present at such an important event when the Minister herself was not even shying away from the memorandum when the woman MP failed to speak up in the Dewan on the matter
