Day trip for Parliament and DUN, the details...

For those who wish to participate the day trip to Parliament and DUN next Tuesday, please be informed that you have to register first with my office so that we can estimate the numbers of participants, which is important for our logistic arrangement.

Please also be informed that we will gather on 21st October 2008 in a car park located next to Jalan SS9A/14. There is only a big car park along that road. I am sure you will be able to locate it. It is just located next to the Police Station and is within walking distance from the wet market. Those who come early can probably enjoy the good and affordable breakfast in the market.

We will leave Sungai Way at about 830am. We expect to arrive at the Parliament House before 9:30 am so that you will have enough time to line up for registration. Since there are liveful debates happening in the House every now and then, the Parliament has become a popular place for journalists and members of the public. Arriving early will save you time.

The particulars you submitted to my office will be sent to the Public Relation Offices of both Parliament and DUN to get clearance on the day of arrival. The PRO will explain to you briefly the function of Parliament. You will be then invited to sit in the public gallery to watch parliamentary debate. Normally you will be watching the questions and answers session in the morning. If there are fewer visitors on that day, you will be allowed more time to watch the debate. You will probably be allowed about 15 minutes inside the public gallery before you are asked to vacate the seats for other visitors.

Then my friends, Mr Goh and Mr Lim, will take over and bring you to tour around the building (since I have to attend the DUN seating in the morning, I will not be joining you all for the Parliament trip). We will probably finish at about 12pm. We will then leave for Shah Alam at 12noon and arrive at Shah Alam DUN building at about 1pm.

You will be first invited for lunch inside DUN. After that you will be invited to sit inside the DUN’s public gallery and observe the afternoon session which will start at 2:30pm. Like Parliament, you will have to vacate the seats for other visitors after about 15 minutes and I will personally bring you to tour around the state DUN building. The whole trip would probably finish at about 4pm and you should expect to return to Sungai Way before 5pm.

That’s all for the trip.
