Blood Donation Drive - Organized by DAP SS2 Branch and PJ Action Team

It happens every year – during the Puasa month, hospitals run out of blood for patients.

Even the National Blood Centre, which receives and distributes blood to other medical institutions, is facing a shortage.

The Centre would have to supply 2,500 blood bags weekly in order to meet the demands of hospitals and other medical institutions.

In September 2007, the Centre managed to stock just enough supplies. But it is not the case in this month.

The Centre is expected to collect 1,500 blood bags in the first week of October, which is still a shortage of 1,000 blood bags.

The situation goes worse in second week of October due to the long holidays and less blood donation drives being held. The Centre is expected to collect merely 400 bags!

This is alarming! Your helps are critical and very much appreciated.
